Watch this space

News, Postbag, Published on 22/12/2018

» Politicians and political parties are claiming Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha is unable to solve Thailand's corruption problems by referring to his deputy, and the watch scandal. If this is set to be the new standard of intolerable corruption, Thailand is moving forward. But for that to happen, politicians and parties now heavily criticising Gen Prayut have to stick to the 25 watches norm also when in power. I am sceptical, especially with the new party that wants to move "forward" by moving backwards, returning to the old democracy that was not so much of a democracy.

Many gates, no bars

Oped, Postbag, Published on 10/02/2018

» Let’s see now. First there was watchgate, then we had copgate and now we have poachgate. Will the gates ever stop? No. Because this is amazing Thailand and we all know the elites don’t do jail time.

Down the rabbit hole

Oped, Postbag, Published on 03/02/2018

» Help me, somebody, I think I must have fallen down a rabbit hole and found myself in a world as crazy as Alice did. In this strange, topsy-turvy world the people who ousted an elected government, an action usually considered more serious than sedition is now arresting protesters and dissidents for actions and speech inciting people to rebel against their government.
