» At Yet-Space, there was fried chicken which looked like KFC but tasted worse. At Speedy Grandma, the hipsters, as usual, seemed perfectly fine with Asahi draught as their sole sustenance. At Bangkok University Gallery there was food but I wasn't there in time to see what it was. In this month's column, which rounds up the best food served in the capital's art scene, The Jam Factory Gallery was a sure winner.

Staging an LGBT revolution

» It all started one day in July, when Sun Tawalwongsri visited Silom Society coffee shop and saw empty space on the fifth floor and rooftop, with BTS Skytrains passing by. Just a few months later, the veteran director, actor and choreographer established the appropriately named Sun Dance Theatre. The theatre is now celebrating its launch with The 1st Bangkok Queer Theatre Festival, which began last week and will continue until the end of year with six productions from five directors.

In recent years, however, the red-and-white barber pole, the nostalgic buzz of electric hair clippers, the thick layer of lather and the masterly handling of the open razor while the customer is on a reclining chair - all of these have made a trendy comeback.
