Winding down at White Wood Beach

» Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa manages to blend in with its green surrounding and yet also sprouts an air of chicness. The vast and airy lobby building which has turtle-shell roofs and understated art pieces looks out onto a beautiful pond and, from a distance, villas amid lush greenery to block prying eyes. On our way to a low-rise building where our Deluxe Rooms were waiting, we walked past white sands, lush bushes and palm trees.

Mellow time on Merlin beach

» While many resorts boast about having private beaches, in reality, what they should be saying is "we're really right next to the beach but we share it with our neighbouring hotels and possibly some random vendors too". However, Phuket Marriott Resort & Spa, Merlin Beach, can really back this claim up. And rightfully so too.

» 1 Bangkok Swing is back at it again and hosting another not-to-be-missed event at the Cho Why gallery in Chinatown. Tomorrow, they're hosting Swinging In The Rain, a fun-filled event starting off with a screening of the 1952 American musical comedy classic Singing In The Rain. Once everyone is hyped up, the crew will then teach basics of swing dancing for half-an-hour, which will move into a full-on freestyle dance afterwards. Topping it off, Bangkok Swing will then move to SoulBar for a funky and soul-filled after party. The movie screening starts at 4.30pm, with a 100 baht entry fee.
