The power of attraction

Guru, Eric E Surbano, Published on 24/09/2021

» K-pop stans and Blinks across the world were sent into a frenzy when Blackpink's Lisa released her solo debut album, Lalisa, a few weeks ago. The internet quickly fell in love with its addictive beat and rhythm, but the accompanying music video featured more than just tantalising visuals drenched in neon lights -- it featured the Buri Ram native in a traditional Thai headdress and the Prasat Hin Phanom Rung.

Guru, Eric E Surbano, Published on 12/04/2019

» SJ "Ess Jay" Nolan is the president and manager of Bangkok Roller Derby. I can imagine you going, "Wait, there's a Bangkok Roller Derby?". Yes, yes there is, and for the past six years or so, the team has been going pretty strong. They want to spread the word about roller derby and have more people involved so they can eventually set up Team Thailand officially. How do you join? What's roller derby? How does it work? Screen stealers

Guru, Eric E Surbano, Published on 21/09/2018

With that in mind, we've compiled a list of other Thai films that have not only gained recognition outside of Thailand but have also received awards.

Thai references gone wrong

Guru, Eric E Surbano, Published on 04/08/2017

» There's nothing like that feeling of pride when we see Thailand being mentioned somewhere in movies, sitcoms or games even. The Land of Smiles' big break would probably be the James Bond film, The Man With The Golden Gun. Aside from movies, Thai food has been getting a lot of recognition as well and it's always such a delight when we hear the gang from The Big Bang Theory mention that they're going to have Thai for dinner as they all gather around, sitting on the couch. While we are definitely pleased with the references being made to Thailand, there are some of them that are... well, wrong. We do realise these are all fictional, but we've compiled some of our favourites anyway for your entertainment.

Bangkokian Phones

Guru, Eric E Surbano, Published on 03/02/2017

» We're all familiar with the saying "Don't judge a book by its cover", i.e. don't judge people by their appearances. Well, we totally agree. It's 2017, so judge them by their phones instead!
