Let's judge a book by its cover

Life, Pattramon Sukprasert, Published on 14/10/2016

» Bookworms dream of October, the month of Book Expo Thailand. Starting yesterday, the fair offers a limitless inventory of titles, and those who come unprepared with a shopping list will face a tough time browsing. So many books, so little time

» If the number of book events can be an effective indicator of Thai people's interest in reading, we might have more evidence to debunk the fallacious mantra "Thais only reads eight lines a year". » Art and gallery are definitely a proper match. For a change, now we have Hotel Art Fair, which will be held at Ad Lib Hotel this weekend from 11am till 11pm, and which will display artwork in the uncommon setting of hotel rooms. Despite an unusual display, the fact that there will be over 20 leading galleries such as ATTA Gallery, H Gallery, Serindia Gellery and inProductions gathering in one place makes this worth a visit.

» Charoen Krung Road, Thailand's first road completed in 1864, was once a hub of prosperity, rich with money, culture and diversity. Now in 2015, the road that runs past the Old City, along the river all the way to Thanon Tok, has enjoyed an urban revival. Once home to expats, embassies, religious and ethnic communities and shophouses, the road and its many sois have now been enlivened by a younger vibe, from Maitri Chit Road near Yaowarat (Chinatown) to the galleries in mid-Charoen Krung.
