» Just got back from watching No Time to Die, Daniel Craig's fifth and final appearance as James Bond and the 25th film in the franchise. It was quite a decent send-off for Craig and entertaining enough to sit back and enjoy my first visit to a cinema in a couple of years.

» One of the few entertaining aspects of the recent British election is the variety of characters that run for office, invariably representing parties with daft names. It serves as a reminder that politics doesn't have to be a total bore. These eccentrics were particularly noticeable in the constituencies in which the "big names" were running. It was enough for BBC television anchor David Dimbleby to sniff that the election "seems to attract every, Tom, Dick and Harry".

» Returning to Suvarnabhumi airport from the Northeast last Sunday, I decided to try out the new-look taxi system with the impressive-sounding “automatic queue-card kiosks”, rather than my normal practice of sneaking up to the fourth floor and grabbing a taxi from outside the departure lounge.
