» Until Dec 22, food enthusiasts can enjoy the 16th Plathu Eating and Mae Klong Famous Products Festival held in front of the Provincial Hall, Muang district of Samut Songkhram. Plathu is a type of mackerel that lives off the shoreline to a depth of 200m. Three types of plathu are found in Thai waters _ short-bodied or Indo-Pacific mackerel, Indian mackerel (plathu lang) and island mackerel (plathu pakjingjok). The festival focuses on short-bodied mackerel.
