» The Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok with support from the Embassy of Italy and the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra Foundation recently staged the "Famous Italian Arias", a charity gala dinner and concert featuring an impressive performance by world-class Italian opera singers -- Paola Cacciatori (lyric mezzo-soprano), Tiziana Guaglianone (soprano), Allan Rizzetti (baritone) and David Righeschi (tenor), with orchestral accompaniment by the 45-member Bangkok Symphony Orchestra under the baton of maestro Carlo Magni.

Educating those in need

» The Tiang Chirathivat Foundation and Central Group recently provided six remote schools with a new library and a community learning centre equipped with books and other learning materials, a hygienic kitchen, clean canteen, as well as clean water and sanitary facilities. This charity work is part of the ongoing "Central Educational Development Project" which the foundation and the group have undertaken for the past six years.
