Life, Apipar Norapoompipat, Published on 09/01/2019

» If Miguel Januario had been born in Thailand, he probably would have been arrested or sent to a "re-education camp" by now. Through his 14-year ongoing artistic project "±MaisMenos±" (More-Less), the Portuguese artist creates scathing political and social criticisms through illegal public art interventions, sculptural installations, paintings and performances branded with his minimal logo of a plus and minus sign.

Life, Apipar Norapoompipat, Published on 23/02/2018

» Professor Bundhit Eua-aporn has a lot on his plate. As the newly appointed Chulalongkorn University President, he is not only at the helm of the country's most respected educational institution, but a rich landlord in a prime location in Bangkok. Over the next four years (eight if he gets extended), there will be an overwhelming number of goals and concerns -- academic, economic and everything in between -- that he has to quickly act on.

Defying authority with creativity

Life, Apipar Norapoompipat, Published on 11/05/2016

» You know it's going to be an interesting exhibition (especially in Thailand's current political climate) when both police and army officials drop by to question and find reasons to shut it down. That just so happened to have occurred at the opening of "Paradise Of The Blind" by Sutthirat Supaparinya at The Reading Room last week. The show is the first part of the "Sleepover" series, a six-month project involving handing over the library to six influential groups or figures, giving them complete autonomy over the space for one month each.
