The recent dispute between Starbucks, the coffee conglomerate, and Starbung, a roadside coffee stall, over a trademark logo might leave a sour taste and bad perception of the strong arm of intellectual property. Yet Peter Willimott, director of the Singapore office of the World Intellectual Property Organization (Wipo), said the issue of intellectual property is not solely about lawsuits and monopoly.
