MEA and Partners Launch Sutthisan Underground Cable Project

» Mr. Thaveesak Smansin, Assistant Governor, Distribution System Service, alongside Assoc. Prof. Wisanu Subsompon, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, Dr. Panomporn Suvannapattana, Advisor to the Commissioner, NBTC at the Office of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission, Mr. Rachan Pensiri, Advisor to the Executive Committee of the Telecommunications Association of Thailand Under The Royal Patronage, and representatives from various agencies including the Royal Thai Police, telecommunications operators, and partner networks, gathered to support the project to remove communication cables on Sutthisan Winitchai Road. This project spans from Phahonyothin Road intersection to Vibhavadi Rangsit Road intersection, covering a distance of 1.6 kilometres, starting at the Bangchak gas station, Soi Inthamara 4, Sutthisan Winitchai Road.

Huawei Boosts Solar Adoption in Thailand

» Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd. is accelerating solar energy application in Thailand by providing inverter and optimiser equipment for rooftop solar power generation systems to the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA). The handover ceremony was held at the PEA headquarters. Additionally, Huawei will foster skilled professionals for PEA in 12 subdistricts across Thailand by equipping them with the knowledge and expertise needed for effective installation of the solar power generation systems. This initiative aims to deliver an optimal experience for PEA’s customers, drive the transition to clean energy, and promote sustainable development. It will also solidify strategic partnerships between Huawei and PEA to introduce smart photovoltaic (Smart PV) products and promote wider adoption of clean energy in Thailand, reinforcing Huawei's commitment to ‘Grow in Thailand, Contribute to Thailand.’

Thai Companies Slow to Adopt AI Technologies

» Although Thailand ranked nearly top among 21 nations surveyed recently where 'excitement' about artificial intelligence (AI) was rife, the adoption of this game-changing technology, especially by companies in the country, is quite lacklustre. A recent study by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) has found that consumers in emerging markets, including Thailand, are generally among those who are particularly open to and excited about AI, particularly Generative AI (GenAI), indicating a higher likelihood of consumers adopting AI more in their daily lives.
