MEA Restores Power After Samsen Road Subsidence

» Road subsidence on Samsen Road in front of Vajira Hospital severely disrupted the local electricity network earlier this week, prompting an immediate response from the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA). On 24 September 2025, MEA executives and staff, led by Deputy Governor (Distribution System Service) Pipat Chonumpai, visited the site to monitor conditions, inspect the safety of power poles and electrical lines, and oversee restoration work.

MEA and Partners Launch Sutthisan Underground Cable Project

» Mr. Thaveesak Smansin, Assistant Governor, Distribution System Service, alongside Assoc. Prof. Wisanu Subsompon, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, Dr. Panomporn Suvannapattana, Advisor to the Commissioner, NBTC at the Office of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission, Mr. Rachan Pensiri, Advisor to the Executive Committee of the Telecommunications Association of Thailand Under The Royal Patronage, and representatives from various agencies including the Royal Thai Police, telecommunications operators, and partner networks, gathered to support the project to remove communication cables on Sutthisan Winitchai Road. This project spans from Phahonyothin Road intersection to Vibhavadi Rangsit Road intersection, covering a distance of 1.6 kilometres, starting at the Bangchak gas station, Soi Inthamara 4, Sutthisan Winitchai Road.

MEA Enhances Student Skills for Energy Conservation

» MEA (Metropolitan Electricity Authority) organised student capacity-building activities for energy and environmental conservation as part of the Energy Mind Award Season 2, 2024. The event was held at Chaophraya Surasakmontree Room, MEA Ploenchit Office. This initiative aims to enhance understanding of the project’s framework and standards. This year, 81 educational institutions participated, where they received training on energy and environmental conservation, systematic and proper energy conservation methods, and planning for energy conservation in schools to elevate them to model institutions for energy and environmental conservation.
