Warped curiosity

Oped, Postbag, Published on 04/09/2024

» Re: "Taste of hell", (BP photo, Sept 1). It is bad enough that kids are encouraged to play with guns and clamber all over tanks on Army Day, but now we have a shopping centre that has established a "Hell Space" for a week to entertain curious, and I mean curious people, including youngsters.

News, Postbag, Published on 26/01/2020

» Local media reported last week that coalition MP Pareena Kraikupt will get off scot-free from charges of encroaching on protected land because she's returned the land to the Agricultural Land Reform Office (Alro) and Royal Forest Department, both of which are suddenly too busy to pursue charges against this influential lady.

Foolish drug war

News, Postbag, Published on 10/08/2019

» Re: "Weed use a 'medical minefield'", (BP, Aug 8). If countries like Canada and the US are not intimidated by threats from the wrong-headed International Narcotics Control Board (INCB) that is stuck in the hysteria-driven mistakes of the ignorant past and vicious drug war heyday, why should Thailand be terrified of its threats to punish good citizens who need other medicines? The whole idea of punishing another group for the perceived crimes of others is morally indefensible, however popular it might be in the sanctions imposed by US presidents intent on forcing others to bow to their populist will.
