The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon rolls into the festive season with a larger-than-life retro glam fest

» With The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon gearing up for its busiest season yet since throwing the doors open earlier this year, the hotel's dining and venues are putting on their best acts – from limited-edition pours at The Parlor to a glitzy New Year's Eve party at Sky Beach to gourmet nightlife feasting at The Standard Grill, Ojo and Mott 32. Wowing guests from the first point of entry, The Plaza in front of the hotel, complete with its own roller disco, will turn into a Rockefeller Center-esque festive wonderland steeped in 1980's Hollywood glamour, while The Standard's Christmas Tree in the lobby, decorated in collaboration with Dhanut Tungsuwan, one of Bangkok's hottest creatives which promises to be a gift for all those who want to “glam their gram” this festive season.

» Dhanut Tungsuwan is an up-and-coming artist who has had a number of exhibitions showing off his immense talent and work in Britain. A Harrow alum, he studied art and design at Central Saint Martins and Chelsea College of Art & Design. He's now back in Thailand where he recently opened a new exhibition entitled "Transitions" at Tadu Contemporary Art by Thaiyarnyon. Guru spoke to him about the exhibition, and his ideas and inspiration.
