» พรรคประชาธิปัตย์เปิดรับสมัครการหยั่งเสียงเป็นหัวหน้าพรรค โดยมีนพ.วรงค์ เดชกิจวิกรม อดีตส.ส.พิษณุโลก ผู้เข้าแข่งขันตำแหน่งหัวหน้าพรรค และ นายอภิสิทธิ์ เวชชาชีวะ หัวหน้าพรรค นายอลงกรณ์ พลบุตร อดีตรองหัวหน้าพรรคฯ ตามลำดับ ยื่นสมัครด้วยตัวเองที่อาคาร ม.ร.ว.เสนีย์ ปราโมช ที่ทำการพรรคประชาธิปัตย์ ทั้งนี้ ผู้ใดที่มายื่นใบสมัคร และลงชื่อในเอกสารลงชื่อก่อน ก็จะได้หมายเลขสมัครตามลำดับ แต่กรณีที่มายื่นใบสมัครก่อนเวลา 8.30 น. ให้ถือว่ามาพร้อมกัน และให้ใช้วิธีจับฉลาก หลังจากนั้นในวันเดียวกัน เวลา 17.00 น. จะมีการเลือกคณะกรรมการลงคะแนนหยั่งเสียงเบื้องต้น (กกต.ของพรรค) จำนวนไม่เกิน 5 คน เพื่อมาทำหน้าที่ดูแลการหยั่งเสียงเลือกหัวหน้าพรรคครั้งนี้ พร้อมทั้งให้ผู้สมัครแต่ละฝ่ายเสนอผู้รับตำแหน่ง กกต. ของพรรคได้ฝ่ายละ 1 คน แล้วเสนอชื่อต่อคณะกรรมการบริหารแต่งตั้ง ที่ทำการพรรคประชาธิปัตย์ สามเสน กรุงเทพมหานครPublished caption : Abhisit: Vying to remain party leader
