He recently was convicted in Nacka District Court, Sweden, for the death - in a Pattaya bar - of New Zealander, Robert Hollick but not for murder. He has been charged with aggravated assault and manslaughter and will spend one year and six months in a Swedish jail as well as paying damages to Robert Hollick’s relatives. The court said the Thai police investigation has been incomplete, inaccurate and unclear. The suspected murder weapon, a knife, disappeared during a renovations in an archive where it was stored. The court also said the investigation was so flawed that it cannot be the basis for a murder sentence. Initially Mr Ringvall was arrested and detained on suspicion of murder by Thai police, but was later released on bail.
