» The name "Ritz-Carlton" is synonymous to luxury so when I stayed at their location in Koh Samui, I expected nothing less. I'm glad to say they didn't disappoint. The Ritz-Carlton, Koh Samui offers guests a relaxing and indulging stay complete with a variety of choices to dine at, a number of activities to enjoy, rooms that are just fan-freaking-tastic and an oceanfront location that provides views that will take your breath away.
Local luxury

» Whenever you think of beach getaways, you probably think of places like Bali, Hawaii or if you've got the dough, the Caribbean or Maldives. Basically, anywhere but somewhere local. But why does going somewhere local have to be a bad thing? Is it because there's this mindset that just going local is not glamorous enough? Don't get me wrong, there's no problem with a beach getaway abroad, but it's only glam if you've got the bucks for it. I humbly suggest an alternative: why not just spend the same amount of money you would on an OK beach vacay in another country on a luxurious beach getaway in Phuket?

» Taking a vacation is supposed to be a time to relax, unwind and escape reality for a little bit. However, it's the planning prior to the vacation that can cause stress and chaos. Where do you want to go? Where are you going to stay? Do you want to go around and explore the local sights or is this going to be a staycation sort of thing? And then there's the million dollar question: how much is this all going to cost? Will I be able to afford it or is this vacay worth living off saltine crackers for a month?

» The island of Phuket is no stranger to tourists and, unfortunately, that can be a bad thing in some ways. Beaches can be crowded, neighbourhoods can be loud, and the relaxing, seaside escape from the concrete jungle can actually just become a transfer to a seaside jungle. Despite this, there are still pockets of seclusion and serenity on the island of Phuket, and while some places are really secluded, and as far away from civilisation as they can be, The Boathouse Phuket has hit the rare, sweet spot of being tranquil in the middle of a somewhat bustling neighbourhood.
