Rotate your shoulders in perfect way

Sports, Brett Brasier, Published on 20/09/2023

» It's important to continue turning past the point of impact so you can maximise clubhead speed when you meet the ball without pulling out of the shot.

Strike the ball consistently and cleanly

Sports, Brett Brasier, Published on 13/09/2023

» Thanks for last week's feedback on the golfing use of shoulders in the backswing, which is to charge up momentum by coiling the body to be in the position to unleash power during the swings transition.

Keep your shoulders in line with the target

Sports, Brett Brasier, Published on 06/09/2023

» The way you set up is all about getting your body into the right position to give yourself the best chance at making a good shot, so you will want to make sure your shoulders are in the correct place to start off and that they are parallel with your line of aim.

Good grip leads to good swing

Sports, Brett Brasier, Published on 23/08/2023

» Some golfers don't slice every time, even though they don't rotate the club with their hands and wrists, because they hit the ball with their shoulders although using them is not a good way to square up the clubface. Try developing silky-smooth swing with loads of power

Sports, Brett Brasier, Published on 26/07/2023

» What should your hips do when you swing? -- well, your right hip will move up and back as you take the club away from the ball, and then up into a solid position as the lower body starts to generate power. The left leg should remain a little flexed as the right straightens on the backswing. I have to mention here that straightening your right leg is not set in stone, and if it works better for you -- keep a little spring in it.

Turn on axis instead of lateral slide

Sports, Brett Brasier, Published on 19/07/2023

» By moving your left knee forward, the hips are naturally turned back and allow for the backswing to occur. By making sure the kneecap doesn't move laterally, you are limiting the overall movement of your lower body, and in doing so promoting a more reliable and compact swing.

Use feet to generate more power

Sports, Brett Brasier, Published on 12/07/2023

» I believe that over the past 28 years of writing golf tips I’ve not touched on what ankles and feet do in the golf swing. However, analytics show that more power can be generated if your feet move correctly during your swing.
