The Appeals Court yesterday overturned a lower court’s verdict against Khunying Potjaman na Pombejra, former wife of deposed prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, clearing her of all charges relating to a tax evasion scandal. Khunying Potjaman was found guilty on July 31, 2008 by the Criminal Court of conspiring to evade taxes worth 546 million baht in her transfer of shares worth 738 million baht to her stepbrother Bannapot Damapong.
