Otherscall for massive land appropriation to build ‘‘floodways’’ in many provinces, such as Samut Songkhram and Nakhon Pathom. Conservationists sued the government in the Administrative Court for violating laws and circumventing legal processes, especiallyconcerning the awarding of contracts before the completion of environmental impact studies and public hearings.The court ruled in favour of the conservationists and demanded environmentalstudies. Now that the House has been dissolved, thefate of the project is unclear, though thegovernment has shown signs that it wants to forge ahead with the plan.
