The centre showcases 152 years of minting and circulating coins in Thailand. It is open  from 9 am to 3 pm from Monday to Friday, and  admission is free. Each year, Thailand  mints 1 billion replacement coins for  circulation, 50 million commemorative coins, five sets of royal decorations  and 4.7 million souvenir coins and other products. Director-general Naris Chaiyasoot said the Royal Thai Mint can produce coins for neighbouring  countries lacking the facilities. APICHIT JINAKUL
