Helsinki Open since December last year,Helsinki Central Library Oodi is thecity’s latest landmark. The libraryfunctions as more than just a centrefor reading. Within its 17,250m²space, there are study or meetingrooms, an auditorium, a workshopcorner with 3D printers and toolsfor handicrafts, a recording studiowith musical equipment for rent, acinema, a playground for childrenand a cafe. The top floor features awavelike wooden floor. Comfortableseating is available throughout, and thefloor-to-ceiling windows and balcony allowvisitors to sit and admire the views over the city. Oodi recently won the 2019 Public Library of the Year award by the International Federation of Library Associations.
