attractions in Samut Songkhram : The ordination hall of Wat Bang Khae Noiin Amphawa is totally made of wood. It took10 years and 65 million baht to completethe construction. The hall is large enough toaccommodate up to a hundred people or more,but the wooden floor is made of only sevenplanks of takhian (white thingan) tree. Eachwooden board is quite large. The length is15m. The width is 115cm and the thicknessis 10.5cms. The walls are decorated withcrafted wooden images telling the story of LordBuddha. If you look closer at the Bodhi treebehind the principal Buddha statue, you willknow that each leaf is also crafted from wood.
