The site where the citadel of Chanthaburi and the residence of its governor once stood, viewed from the east bank of theChanthaburi River. The area is now part of Taksin Military Camp. A little further downstream is a network of safe lagoons, which, together with valuable goods fromthe forests and mountains, made Chanthaburi an important port formaritime traders in ancient times.
