The current ubosoth (ordination hall), for example, although a replacement of the old one that was destroyed by fire in 1998, was designed by national artist Prawes Limparangsri. It boasts elaborate stucco works on the exterior and mural paintings on the interior. Take your time whileappreciating these works of art. There are hidden details that may surprise you.A stone’s throw from the ordination hall is the ho trai (Buddhist-scriptures repository) built on stilts in a rectangular pond — a fine specimen of Thai wooden architecture.Wat Klang Bang Kaeo also has a museum where amulets, scriptures and other items related to its revered former abbots Luang Pu Bun and Luang Pu Phoemare put on display. The temple is home to several beautiful chickens. Its riverfront teems with fish that scramble to the surface when you throw food on the water.
