
Immigration police chief Wuthi Liptapanlop yesterday said Anai Kenichi, 41, was the head of the Kato Rengo-kai group, a faction of the Sumiyoshi-kai, Japan’s second-largest crime syndicate which is thought to have 6,000 members. Mr Kenichi and other gang members allegedly shot dead Watanabe Nobuhiro, 34, a member of Japan’s third-largest yakuza gang, the Inagawa, in Kanagawa prefecture last July.
