False deed charge dropped against firm The Administrative Court has dropped an accusation of false issuance of land rights documents for 18 plots covering 310 rai occupied by steel giant Sahaviriya Group. Its decision was based mainly on evidence that the issuance of Nor Sor 3 documents, which certify land use, in Bang Saphan district on the coast of Prachuap Khiri Khan province between 1964 and 1980, was in line with laws and local officials' insistence that the area was not a nature reserve or public land. Complainants led by the Stop Global Warming Association and residential activists had accused 11 authorities, including the provincial governor and land and forest officials, of omission of duty and malfeasance. They will appeal against the ruling at the Supreme Administrative Court, activist leader Jintana Kaewkhao said. TAWATCHAI KEMGUMNERD
