Wasana Saipanya, 51, makes khao khaeb in her backyard. The batter which is made of rice flour, water, sesame and little salt is cooked on a white cloth sheet on top of a stove. Her helper takes each flour sheet from the stove by using a long stick and then spreads it on a long thatch panel for drying. Within three hours, the flour sheets will be dry. Before eating, they need to begrilled over a charcoal fire. The thin flour sheet will become crispy after being cooked.
