Published caption : The History of Muang Pak Nam Pho Museum tells of local history through the simulated local way of life and culture and its models of old shops and handicrafts. It has several zones. Zone 1 traces the visit of King Rama V to Nakhon Sawan over a century ago. Zone 2 showcases the life-size models of the old shops in the city’s Talat Lao, a trading hub for northern people (locally called khon Lao) who travelled by boat from Kamphaeng Phet or as far as Chiang Mai. Zone 3 displays Thai and Chinese signs of local shops. Zone 4 depicts the history of Nakhon Sawan through artefacts, models, maps and old photos. A highlight is the display of lion dance props. Zone 5 shows models of Dechatiwong Bridge and various kinds of boats. Zone 6 is an old photo exhibition by the famous local photographer Manop Suwansri. Located on the 5th floor of Fairy Land Department Store on Sawanwithi Road, the museum is open daily during the mall’s opening hours. Admission is free.
