  » Education and morality are not a given duo package. It infuriates me to write this, but apparently, having a good education by no means ensures that a person will turn out to have more-or-less sound morals. Which is ironic, because shouldn't all that education have gotten it across somewhere that paying for your education bills is what makes for some of the most basic requirements to being a decent human being?

  » Having been in a movie black hole of sorts for the past few months, I was completely oblivious to what the movie Black Panther is, when my best friend suggested we go see it. The only thing I knew was that it would be a Marvel movie featuring a cast made up of a majority of African-Americans and Africans. This, of course, is rarer than a blue moon, and was enough to pique my interest. Fine by me. In fact, I would be most intrigued to watch a superhero film where the black guy isn't the sidekick or someone likely to get shot within the first 12 seconds.

  » I once had an investment banker friend from Hong Kong who was obsessed with Drake, liked to use the term "thug lyfe" and made questionable fashion choices because of his affection for Kanye West. He was the first straight guy I met who wore a form-fitting T-shirt that was long enough to be a dress. With his obvious affinity for all things hip hop, it couldn't have been more "him" when he Whatsapped me using certain emojis. Namely, the black hand, giving a thumbs-up sign.

  » Our HR guy tells the straying university students that have a field trip to our office that the future of newspapers could possibly include aromas and 3D. Actually, the latter part already came into fruition with one of our wrap ads, where 3D glasses also were included with the paper for readers to see a particular image. This wasn't a gimmick to bring their attention back to the podium, but a genuine sense of hope, with perhaps a dash of fantasy, that something of the sort would materialise one day. It sounds like a Roald Dahl daydream, but I myself couldn't help but to imagine along how wondrous it would be if I could actually inhale the aroma of the reviewed dishes while reading Friday's food reviews.

  » In the recent wake of terrorist atrocities -- most infamously done in the name of religion -- I could not help but question my own line of faith that is Buddhism. Or perhaps "reconnect" would be a better way to put it, as a so-called modern day millennial who isn't a very avid temple-goer.
