Winding down at White Wood Beach
Guru, Pornchai Sereemongkonpol, Published on 11/08/2017
» Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa manages to blend in with its green surrounding and yet also sprouts an air of chicness. The vast and airy lobby building which has turtle-shell roofs and understated art pieces looks out onto a beautiful pond and, from a distance, villas amid lush greenery to block prying eyes. On our way to a low-rise building where our Deluxe Rooms were waiting, we walked past white sands, lush bushes and palm trees.

How to Boost BMTA buses
Guru, Pornchai Sereemongkonpol, Published on 18/08/2017
» During this month and next, the BMTA will be running a trial period of "reform" for their public buses in order to drum up more passengers. I put in the quotation marks because it seems what they mean so far by reform essentially consists of recolouring the buses and changing their numbers. Bus numbers in the future may start with an English alphabet letter which represents their colour and area of operation i.e. G=green, B=blue, Y=yellow and so on. If it ends with E, that means it will go on an express-way too. How fun!

» Chardchakaj "Air" Waikawee is a multi-hyphenate who has received international kudos for his photography. Some of you, especially the hipsters, may already know him as the founder/owner of AIRLAB, a photography service which processes films in Sukhumvit Soi 81. He also founded his own production house and creative agency Waikawee, but he came into our radar because of TRULY (fb.com/trulybkk), a clothing brand that he started several months ago. We were so impressed by the thought that went into his unique products which lifts fashion up into something more meaningful.

On the fifth floor of Central Embassy, the restaurant-and-bar complex with a beach feel opened about four months ago, overlooking the city landscape and featuring seven zones across its 1,200sqm of area.

Why Thailand Won't be 4.0 Anytime Soon
Guru, Pornchai Sereemongkonpol, Published on 25/08/2017
» We all have already heard the much-touted "Thailand 4.0" vision -- an aspiration for our beloved country to become an advanced version of itself -- but it seems all recent evidence points to the contrary. Here are some reasons why I believe the chances of Thailand reaching 4.0 are, unfortunately, very slim.
