Guru, Pornchai Sereemongkonpol, Published on 29/09/2017

» Polish Pawel Viktorek moved to Thailand this year in February, joining Zuma Bangkok as the executive chef. The izakaya Japanese restaurant with a fine-dining twist is world renowned, with branches in major cities and the Bangkok branch recently celebrated its fifth anniversary. » The setting: A restaurant can be the accumulative result of the life-long journey of its creator, who may fuse what they have experienced and the different cultures they have been exposed to into the restaurant's making. He's the CEO of G Enterprise & Co. but you may know him more as the man behind Chingcha Charlee restaurant and the now-defunct nightclub Fallabella.

    Envision a vision in pink

Guru, Catherine Faulder, Published on 29/09/2017

» Pinkplanter X Bonca Cafe opened its doors about three months ago and it sits on the third floor of the Matchbox store, a three-storey wonder already pretty decked out in pink, with cool clothes and accessories to purchase. The pinkness goes to a whole new level when you reach the top though. The cafe itself is even more pink; pink chairs, pink walls, pink kitchen counters and to balance it out, there are fairy lights and green ferns hanging beautifully from the ceiling and walls covered in cutesy quotes such as "You had me at Aloha"; "Tropical Vibes"; "I Love You Like a Fat Kid Loves Cake" and our personal favourite, "I Love You Matcha". When we build our dream house one day not so far away, the cafe's theme is kinda the look we want to go for. Oh, and did we mention the place is bursting with pink flamingoes?

The Thailand Child Abduction Act: legal recourse

    Business, Published on 29/09/2017

» What can one parent do if the other parent kidnaps their child and flees to Thailand? The response to this question before 2013 would have been, "nothing, except try to negotiate for the child's return". Even though Thailand is a signatory to the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction, there was no clear domestic legal framework in place to deal with abduction by custodial parents prior to 2013.

» Many eateries in this tropical Kingdom call themselves a bistro because it sounds French, trendy and inviting. Those wannabes tend to focus more on portraying the ambience and visual vibes of a Parisian joint rather than providing the soul of the real thing.
