    Symbols of cultural preservation

ยป Muslim communities have a long history of making an impact on our landscape. There are around 3,500 mosques scattered around the country, with over 200 in Bangkok and nearby areas, some of them dating back over a century. While the areas of Charoen Krung, Ramkamhaeng and Minburi are known for their concentration of Muslim communities, in terms of architecture some of the most exquisite and unspoilt mosques lie elsewhere, especially in the South. But if time is limited, there are two mosques near Bangkok that are hidden gems of Malay architecture and history, as well as a glimpse at our connection with the South.
