Dry bones in macabre mystery

» Police rushed to a 4-storey apartment block in Sukhumvit 87 after hearing that a pile of bones had turned up on the top terrace. Police at the scene were unable to determine if the remains were of human or animal origin and sent them for forensic investigation. A resident of the block Mr Chokchai said he inte nded to sunbathe on the roof terrace but was horrified to make the ossified discovery. Another resident Ms Nongnooch Yeesing said that a Thai man aged 40 and his two infant daughters had stayed there two years previously and there was a mystery about the girls and what had happened to them. This clue will be brought to the attention of the forensic investigators who will examine the bones.

Teens caught after snatch and grab

» Two 16 year old youths who were enrolled at a famous Pattaya school were arrested in the vicinity of the Land Office, Suksabai Villa, after being found in possession of a woman’s hand bag with 200 baht inside. The victim of an assault Miss Phanida said two men on a motorbike had snatched her belongings as she was driving along in a peaceable manner. The youths in question said they were very sorry for the offence but were disappointed that the theft resulted in so few gains. They had hoped for a more substantial haul.

Tearful Russian loses cash and documents

» Two men in black shirts and pants fled after divesting a Russian woman of her handbag containing 5,000 baht, a mobile phone, hotel keys and personal documents. Miss Alina Gnatyshina, aged 21, said he was with her male partner in Soi 6, Pattaya, when two nameless criminals on a motorbike made their unspeakable move. They then drove away at high speed. Unfortunately no witnesses managed to remember the license number of the get-away bike so the chances of finding the villains are remote to say the least. None the less, Pattaya police will do their best.
