    #Traffic

Guru, Napamon Roongwitoo, Published on 20/05/2016

» How has this week's traffic treated ya, now that the Thai kids are back in school? As a parent who has to endure the heart-tearing stress of being stuck on Sathon Road every morning and afternoon, I think I deserve a trophy for my patience, or a year's supply of Vicodin.

    A divine retreat

Guru, Napamon Roongwitoo, Published on 22/04/2016

» When Bangkokians think about places for a peaceful escape, Asok probably doesn't make their list. More often associated with traffic jams and crowded dining spots, there is, however, a serene side to Asok. Admittedly rare, but there is.

» I never see the point of saying something obvious -- it's a waste of time, like saying today is Friday. What good does it do? Nada. But how can one not talk about this extreme heat we're living with?

» I grew up taking the bus on a regular basis. My school was walking distance from my home, but on lazy days, I would just hop on the bus and save myself maybe five minutes in doing so.

» There is something about having greenness in your home. No, we're not talking about propping up your Christmas tree a few weeks a year. Green is one of the most soothing colours (more so when it's on a traffic light) and, being in the centre of the spectrum, the colour of balance.

    Some like it hot

Guru, Napamon Roongwitoo, Published on 11/12/2015

» I admit that I find it difficult to come up with a way to convince my readers to find the idea of sweating attractive, especially because you are probably already sweating now, during Bangkok's so-called "winter". #KeepOnFearing

Guru, Napamon Roongwitoo, Published on 30/10/2015

» We all had a lot of silly fears as a kid -- clowns, dogs, vegetables, certain relatives and even our own toys. As we grew up, most of those childish fears melted away, replaced by new, equally silly ones. Somehow, at age 30, we end up the same big scaredy cat we were as a five-year-old.
