    Thai drunk hooligan wounds Brit in city

    » British tourist Mark Anthony Strickleton, 53, was attacked by a drunk on Walking Street when the two men accidently bumped into one another. The Brit suffered a serious neck wound. Police later arrested 27-year-old Montri Kanghan, who admitted that in his drunken state he overreacted to the bumping incident. He also splashed the remains of a drink in Strickleton’s face. Police said that the assailant had previously been arrested for public violence, calling him a hooligan when under the influence of alcohol.

    Brit falls from nightclub window

    » Police are still investigating how a 25-year-old British tourist, Stephen Paul Truscott, came to end up on the concrete road after apparently falling from an upper-floor window of a nightclub in Walking Street. He had various broken bones, including a badly damaged hip, and was rushed to Memorial Hospital. It is assumed at present that Truscott fell accidentally after a heavy drinking bout.

    Gambling debtor is knived

    » A man stabbed twice in his torso and right arm was found by police groaning on the ground on Soi Wat Tai Hee. Covered in blood, 34-year-old Prawit Klao Kleamng was rushed to Memorial Hospital. Shortly afterwards, Weerapong Chomtawon calmly walked into the medical facility and announced that he was the knife wielder and was very annoyed that Prawit had not repaid a gambling debt of 1,200 baht. Weerapong said that during an argument in a bar, there had been a fight with broken bottles, after which he stabbed the debtor. Weerapong said he was giving himself up before influential friends of the injured man took their own revenge.

    Motorbike thieves rob Swiss woman

    » A woman carrying 7,000 baht, a mobile phone, a credit card and a passport was attacked as she was driving along Soi Buakhao on her motorbike. Milica Ceh, age 48, apparently was followed by two men on a motorbike who bumped into her bike causing it to crash. In the confusion, the 48-year-old woman lost her shoulder bag containing the valuables. She was taken to hospital. Police assigned a special detective to look into the case. The assaulted woman was unable to give a detailed description of her attackers but said they were men wearing black T-shirts.

    » Amorn Chaivongfhun, a 26-year-old Thai women, reported at the Pattaya police station that she had been cheated of a valuable iPhone. She claimed to have met a man in a shop on Walking Street who said he could provide an excellent time in bed. After accepting his offer and going to his room, Amorn stepped into the shower and the man stepped out of the room with her 20,000-baht mobile phone. Police later caught 46-year-old Chalermporn Saeung who admitted to the theft and offered to return the iPhone to avoid going to jail. He was released after giving back the telephone and paying a 2,000 baht fine.

    Motorbike taxi driver killed in accident

    » A 27-year-old taxi man, Somchai Nokpueak, was killed when his motorbike collided with a car at the junction of Third Road and Soi Lenkee. The driver of the car, Warawat Phosajunt, said he was en route to a local hospital with an 80-year-old woman when the motorbike appeared at high speed and attempted to overtake her car resulting in an unavoidable accident.
