NodBad commented : claimed surely with a bit of marketing every factory owner and many private individuals in the country would want one? I have long felt that the solar solution should be to ditch NASA levels of tech and certainly to abandon Photovoltaics until the price drops by 80%. The answer is to make concentrating units (mirrors) as cheap and scruffy as is necessary to make them economical. I've built accurate parabolic troughs with school kids. A sheet of bendy mirror board, some scrap timber a tape measure and a pocket calculator hits the spot. Phillips made portable stirling engine generators in the 50s at affordable prices. They need have little more technology or cost than a lawnmower engine. ECC seemed to be approaching the ideal I'd dreamed of but are sat on their knowledge. Go on; someone rowst 'em up and buy one and publicise it. I dare ya! links: http://www.netmeter.org

Anonymous commented : a leading property sales and marketing agent in Europe, with a focus on luxury vacation homes. It established MTH Asia Pacific with Thai partners to handle its first operation in Asia. The local partners have not been named. Mr Joosten said that Europeans felt comfortable about investing in property in Thailand, despite the lack of land ownership rights for foreigners. ''Thailand is very strong in terms of safety, the economy as well as political [stability] compared with other Asian countries,'' he said. Apart from tourists, the company intends to target as potential customers the large number of expatriates in top management positions with multinational companies in Thailand. It will also link up with accounting, financial and law firms to help ensure that foreigners earn benefits from their property investments in Thailand. The strong growth of the local resale market for real estate also appeals to investors, Mr Joosten added. The company's first venture in Asia is Royal Maritime in Sattahip, Chon Buri. It consists of 25 luxury villas with prices ranging between 30 million and 70 million baht each. The company will hold its first event, called Living Rich Asia, this weekend at the Raffles Park Nai Lert Hotel in Bangkok, in order to introduce itself and the new villa project to affluent Thai clients. It will also arrange its first tour of Thailand for 50 affluent European investors in March. In addition, MTH plans to join with a local cable TV operator to set up Travel TV, aiming to broadcast across Thailand by the end of this year. The travel TV channel will be its key marketing tool following the success in Europe of Liberty TV, its 24-hour leisure and lifestyle channel based in Luxembourg. The television programming focuses on selling vacation-related products including hotels, airline tickets and property. The channel is currently seen in Luxembourg, Germany France, the Netherlands and Belgium. MTH has other property projects in the pipeline in Chiang Mai, Phuket, Samui and Bangkok. After Thailand, the company will expand its business into other Asian countries, including China and Singapore.

Anonymous commented : very happy. She has landed a marketing job with an airline and is contributing to housing costs etc. We are also looking into starting a Thai style business which I could certainly not do without her. So notwithstanding emotional considerations it does not seem a poor investment to me.

Anonymous commented : ead encouraging mass tourism, marketing Thailand as a party zone for party animals. Hence you get lots of brainless farangs desperately looking for a fast party with a strict time limit to get “lucky”. Many behave like animals. I think this is a matter of Thai politicians looking to twist fast money out of farangs pockets without taking any obligations for letting “colonialists” stay in the Kingdom on a more fair and committing basis. As a business man I can honestly tell you there is no such thing as fast money. This is a Thai/Japanese tradition; If foreigners have something Thailand needs/wants; buy it, copy it, steal it or take it and send the farangs out afterwards. ASAP. I totally disagree with AD in his reply to you. Thailand has invited white trash en masse just in order to rip them off as fast as possible instead of inviting “white gold” to stay and contribute to Thai society over a long period of time. What you have asked for you has got. I have seen it with my own eyes. I do not understand what there is to complain about. If you want to see a change in this, like I do, you should talk about it with some Thai politicians. I MHO you should find out what you want in Thailand. 1) Fast money and bad behavior from ignorant tourists 2) No money but keeping the streets around Nana clean of white trash 3) Good farangs and lots but slow money OR; 4) No farangs and No money from farangs I know you Thais want to have fast money, good behavior and no farangs permanently staying at same time, but I am afraid that is impossible. You must take a pick. Best regards, Hans

New Asus Scores a 10 for Style
B Magazine, Richard Mcleish, Published on 03/01/2010
» A little over two years ago, Asus appeared on the scene with a model that was to start a new era of laptops - the netbook generation. Since then, many manufacturers have followed suit, releasing a myriad of models of various specs and sizes. Asus continues its epic EEE PC series with the recent release of the 1008HA model, but can they continue to shape the genre of laptop that they practically defined?
