Life, Graham K. Rogers, Published on 06/07/2016

» Early on Friday morning, there was some excitement in the overnight news about an app developed in Russia that applied artistic effects to photographs. This is not a new idea and I have had some apps that do similar tasks, going back to when I had the iPhone 3G.

News and commands from the future

Life, Graham K. Rogers, Published on 28/01/2015

» With the announcement of Apple's Q1 2015 figures released just a few hours ago, I expect there are already several reports online explaining the numbers and telling us why Apple is succeeding. Or failing. It depends on whose words you read. One thing the negatives will suggest is that what goes up, must come down, so in the final analysis Apple will fail. Just not yet.

» With Apple's World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) only a couple of weeks away (June 8-12), the rumours have already begun. Life, Graham K. Rogers, Published on 27/08/2014

» Last week, the Apple video Misunderstood won a Creative Arts Emmy Award. The advertisement features an apparently-dysfunctional teen who is more engaged with the family than first seems when it appeared last year.

» The arrival of the Touch Bar with the MacBook Pro brought into focus how some of us use our devices, especially personal computers. The emphasis here is on the word, "personal". Successes, failures and a finale

Life, Graham K. Rogers, Published on 12/04/2017

» On May 2, Apple will announce its Second Quarter Results for 2017. The conference call is scheduled for 2pm Cupertino Time on Tuesday, which is around 4am Wednesday here. Making the MacBook Pro mine

Life, Graham K. Rogers, Published on 07/12/2016

» My intention had been to run the 2016 MacBook Pro I have as a test machine, with the main work continuing on my 2013 Mac until its replacement arrives in a couple of weeks' time. By the time I wrote last week's eXtensions article, I was enjoying the new Mac so much that Plan B was hatched and I moved everything to the 2016 MacBook Pro.
