    Dragged by the heals

Guru, Mika Apichatsakol, Published on 17/03/2017

» We did it. We've gone where no other BKK lifestyle publication has gone before for a story. We went drag. Nope, we didn't just stand on the sidelines, ask questions and admire. We went in, literally, as far as you can go, and experienced it first-hand for ourselves. And who else would we entrust with all the hair glue, glitter and lip-overlining other than the one and only leading Thai drag diva extraordinaire Pangina Heals.

The spur of the moment decision ended up leading her to finding sustainability in being a digital nomad as well as a loving travel companion, Mathieu. Guru catches up with the travel bug to talk about living a location-independent life and her blog, makeajourney.co.

    Bewitched

Guru, Mika Apichatsakol, Published on 10/02/2017

» Over New Year's, I watched a local film in Los Angeles that peaked on so many levels. It was called The Love Witch. The story centres around a sensual dark-haired witch, played by the stunning Samantha Robinson (look her up), who uses magic to make men fall in love with her. It's absolutely brilliant. Seriously, go search and watch it. Because not only did we enjoy The Love Witch for its witty commentary on love, sexuality and feminism through the medium of comedic horror, the film left us obsessed with ultra-sassy 60s fashion. Ever since, we've been looking for ways to pay tribute to the Love Witch's style, and what better time to unleash the attitude than during the season of love.

» Her name draws immediate intrigue. On one hand, it's just a damn cool and contemporary name. On the other hand, knowing that she's repping Thailand in an all-female group exhibition celebrating women for the occasion of International Women's Day, we're curious of what themes and images this clearly multicultural homie will bring to the table. We spoke to 29-year-old artist Karma Sirikogar to pick her brains about feminism and also learn more about her background and style of visual abstraction.
