In the World Economic Forum’s latest competitiveness report, corruption is ranked far and away as the number one problem facing businesses. Transparency International, in its 2013 global survey, ranked Thailand 102 out of 177 countries, twice as bad as Malaysia and a far cry from Singapore’s region-leading place of fifth.
