    Pre-Marital Sex. - Part I.

By Anonymous, Created on: 18/06/2003, Last updated on: 26/04/2007

» Hello Mr. Rooster ; I moved this discussion to this more appropriate thread. Mr. Rooster wrote : "People are like animals, and their sexual drives will involve some types of pre-marital sex. So prostitution will be there to provide needed service. " The sexual urge is indeed extraordinarily powerful,...

    • Anonymous commented : Hello All ; "Suicide is a serious public health problem." David Satcher, US Surgeon General, in 1999. Indeed, more people are killing themselves in the US than are being killed by others. And statistics don't tell the whole story. In many cases, family members deny that a death was a suicide. In addition, it is estimated that for every completed suicide, between 10 and 25 are attempted. Suicide rates worldwide have increased 60% in the last 45 years. Something is very wrong. What is it? Search the web for "teen suicide". You will be shocked. "Suicide and Loneliness. Loneliness is one of the factors that lead people to depression and suicide. Jouko Lonnqvist, who headed a study of suicides in Finland, said: "For a great number [of those who had committed suicide], everyday life was lonely. They had lots of spare time but few social contacts. Kenshiro Ohara, a psychiatrist at Hamamatsu University School of Medicine in Japan, commented that "isolation" was behind the recent surge in suicides by middle-aged men in that country." Awake! October 22, 2001. "When someone is alone with his problem, then he usually sees it as disproportionately large and unsolvable." Bela Buda, Hungarian health official. Human beings were never designed to be alone, particularly with all the pressures of modern living. Is it possible that many of these tragic suicides could have been prevented if the person had a soul mate? It is natural for parents to want to protect their children from emotional pain, and therefore try to prevent them from bonding. But these are the results. "A recent survey in Britian indicated that when children are subjected to severe bullying, they are nearly seven times as likely to attempt suicide. The emotional pain that that these children suffer is real. A 13 year old boy who hanged himself left behind a note naming five people who had tormented him and had even extorted money from him. "Please save other children," he wrote." - Awake! October 22, 2001. Wow. How tragically sad for the boy, his parents, his friends and relatives, and all of us too. Not minimizing the obvious question of why our society is spawning bulleys, we can never know if this poor boy would have committed suicide if he had a soul mate to share his problems. Then the other question begging to be asked is would this bullying even have taken place if the five named bulleys had THEIR soul mates to hopefully provide a little stabilizing influence? We think we have all the answers while our society silently crumbles around us undetected. Cheers!!

    • Anonymous commented : kplace (women's liberation in general), age of consent laws (average age of marriage in general), reduction of arranged marriages and rise of the dating game, separation of church and state, rise of consumerism, abandonment of religions, increasing life span, increased standard of living, ease of divorce. Undoubtedly I have missed a few. What significant things have changed since when we didn't have these problems? Posts are welcomed. I don't say I'm right. I say let's discuss it. Then we can move to the next step of problem solving. Cheers!!

Learning about Thai ladies in marriage and culture

By Anonymous, Created on: 23/08/2003, Last updated on: 21/10/2007

» I would like to learn about the Thai lady in marriage and the Thai culture. The reason for this, is that after literally travelling the world for many years, during work commitments, and meeting along the way many ladies for serious relationships. I met along the way a lady from Thailand. We met many...

    • Anonymous commented : t then these were examples in general. Had nothing to do with Thai culture specifically. These are definitely practised in other cultures. My question was are there similar ways of life by the Thai wife. On the question of the mia noi, i have travelled more than enough to know that Thailand is far from the only culture that has this available. The french are famous for it, and is a very accepted way of life. in the same manner it is done discreetly. Please accept my apoligy for not been clear when i ask an open question and give an axample from another culture. As i do not know enough about the Thai culture i cannot give valid examples. So far i have now read three books, on the Thai culture, have spoken to many Thai. Have started to meet Thai friends, but the relationship between husband and wife seems to alude all written knowledge. The best i can get is books written for expats that work in Thailand, so when you think about it, its harder than it sounds. I would love to go and live in Thailand to find out for myself. But then thats a luxury i dont have. Suppose its the same for a Thai wanting to learn about other cultures. Will continue to look and learn.

    Does thai society accept intermarriages?

By Anonymous, Created on: 19/09/2003, Last updated on: 09/05/2006

» The thai men that are undesirable are usually uneducated ones who try to get through life by being sleazy. This is why alot of thai women are turned off by marrying a thai man. Typical thai males are fairly unambitious, narrow-minded, and judgemental. I think that its the society that is teaching...

    • Anonymous commented : u can ask Thai women from the general population about the type of men that they are interested in engaging their relationships.? You will find that they are looking for men who are neutered or feminized in their opinions and attitudes. The increase ratio of female population and educated Thai women have shifted Thai society and economy toward feminization process. Thai culture and society are increasingly moving toward Maternalism. What would be the results of Thai society in 50 to 100 years from now? When Thailand is ruled by ruling class of women, gays, and lesbians?

    family visa

By Anonymous, Created on: 02/01/2004, Last updated on: 12/09/2006

» When the Thai government will allow foreigners with Thai spouse and children to own a one year visa without the need to travel out of the country every 3 month or to show 800 thousands bahts in a bank account, this is very unfair and even most of the Thais don't earn this sum per year, why this discrimination...

    • Anonymous commented : t and his background? As top general, he done many military dealings with PRC. Some of these dealings are now bring cancelled by Thai military forces since it is a one-way deal with low quality equipment with many defective and useless equipment in the past dealings. They did not called him, "Big Jiel," for nothing.

    Dowery

By Anonymous, Created on: 26/05/2004, Last updated on: 09/03/2007

» Hello and thanks to all that responded to my last questions. Those of you who have been following my last questions thanks. I am set to marry in Nov or Dec and I talked to her family. My dowery is set at 2 milllion bath and I already gave a 200,000 bath strater to show that I was interested. What...

    • Anonymous commented : tatus, like a super star or a generals daughter. In many cases, doweries of this much are also given back to the couple if the parents are well off. The dowery is suppose to show that you are well intended and can support their daughter to a standard that the parents can accept. It's not suppose to be meant as a sale of their daughter, although that is what is would seem to foreigners, including myself. Love can be vary blinding and most of the time you wont listen to advice. So all I will say is Be Careful and get to sign a pre-marital agreement. If she really loves she will sign it. Mine did and we are very happy together now for 5 years with a 3 year old girl. Good luck

    British Embassy in Bangkok

By Anonymous, Created on: 05/10/2004, Last updated on: 25/02/2011

» In March, my Thai partner wanted to visit me in London. Before granting a visa, the Embassy wanted a mountain of paperwork including proof of my income, whether or not I woned my own home and a whole lot of other things. At this stage, I have to say that we have many controversial issues in the UK...

    • Anonymous commented : w great the body language and general loved up chit chat is, a Thai girl with an older guy is usually a relationship based on security and financial gain. As for the Embassy in BKK, it's a damn tough job dealing with so many ridiculous visa apps, and I respect anyone who would take on such a task day in day out. BR Rich
