» If there is one thing Hungary is becoming known for, it is how this neoclassical, landlocked country is unexpectedly becoming the capital of projection mapping artists. Four prominent groups which hail from Budapest are considered among the top 10 projection artists in the world, and Limelight, which has created the "Beautiful Bangkok" 3D mapping currently showing on the Magnolias Ratchadamri Boulevard, is also one of those pioneers.

    The virtuous one

Life, Parisa Pichitmarn, Published on 14/04/2017

» Liam Cunningham is quite a funny bunny -- a stark opposite of the character he is best known for portraying: Game Of Thrones' dependably virtuous knight, Ser Davos Seaworth. While in Bangkok earlier this month, he unflinchingly munched the head off fried insects at the street stall and gleefully admitted to nicking tiny props from the set every year, be it the small wooden stag or coins from Braavos. » Sitamon "Peach" Pholdee is adorned in huge, glittery musical notes that dangle from her ears and is wearing Sretsis and Saint Laurent silver boots -- thus confirming all the gab we've heard before that she is always excessively and fabulously dressed. That she must be in the spotlight as a consequence of being married to the nation's ultimate heartthrob, Jesdaporn "Tik" Pholdee, has absolutely nothing to do with it.

Life, Parisa Pichitmarn, Published on 23/03/2017

» The Sirivannavari label keeps tallying up more and more with every collection. Last year it was denim. This year sees the debut of S'Homme, the brand's first foray into menswear -- which also meant a much larger male audience and men's magazine presence at the fashion show last Wednesday. HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana's eponymous fashion brand returned to its old stomping ground at Siam Paragon with the familiar stage and orchestra.

    Tread in (palatable) red

Life, Parisa Pichitmarn, Published on 26/01/2017

» To be honest, we're on grey ground right now as to how red your outfit should be for this Chinese New Year. Wear bright red and it may raise a few eyebrows among the serious mourners, but wearing black and white is also a no-no for the belief of bringing bad luck to the household on this auspicious day.

» Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking. And we really do mean it, unlike when Miranda Priestly said those very words rather snidely in The Devil Wears Prada.

Not just a piece of cake

Life, Parisa Pichitmarn, Published on 11/12/2015

» Have your cake and get to eat it too with Bangkok's latest luxury cake bakers, Sweet Retreat. The British cake decorators behind this enterprise have an amazing ability to create edible works of art -- where sugar-crafted flowers and hand-sculpted models that look a tad too real actually taste pretty good.
