In a void of thoughts
Life, Pimchanok Phungbun Na Ayudhya, Published on 08/02/2016
» In a time of self-censorship, when the free mind is blocked, people are restricting their own expression, out of fear. With scepticism, I question how loudly one is allowed to think in such an Orwellian society. When a major political protest took place in March 2009, a Facebook friend asked me openly on my wall if I was a "red shirt" or a "yellow shirt" supporter. I did not answer. Yes, self-censorship. This might have been the very beginning where I -- as an individual -- started to keep my mouth shut. Instead of expressing my opinions, I choose to bottle up my thoughts and keep mum when it comes to politics.

Luck of the draw
Guru, Pimchanok Phungbun Na Ayudhya, Published on 11/04/2014
» Former full-time graphic designer Arak Ornwilai quit his nine-to-five routine to draw. After a few years of pursuing his signature style, he has become an illustrator, animator and author to watch. Under the alias of Sahred Toy, his tongue-in-cheek cartoon-style drawings have appeared on various commercial avenues including CD covers, festivals and magazines as well as his best-selling series of comic travel journals India Diary and Tokyo Diary. The colourful, vibrant doodle art conjures up everyday objects, light-hearted slices of urban life and some cheeky sex elements. Almost synonymous with his trademark character of a playful-looking pink Dildo, Sahred Toy has lent his quirky designs to Durex in their four-box collector’s set of Love Box Songkran Limited Collection available from now until the end of this month.
