Energy Minister leads Roadshow to Japan

» Mr. Supattanapong Punmeechaow, Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister, together with Ms. Duangjai Asawachintachit, Secretary General, Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) and a delegation of Thai economic agencies held a meeting with executives of The Japan Business Federation (KEIDANREN), a comprehensive economic organisation with a membership of over 1,400 companies. The meeting that took place on 20 April 2022, at the Imperial Hotel Tokyo, Japan, was part of a roadshow to Tokyo and Kanagawa between 19-23 April 2022 which was the first visit to Japan by senior Thai officials since the COVID-19 pandemic.

» Mr. Supattanapong Punmeechaow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy of Thailand, together with Ms. Duangjai Asawachintachit, Secretary General of the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), called on Mr. Hirokazu Matsuno, Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan, and Mr. Hagiuda Koichi, Minister of Economy, Trade & Industry of Japan (METI) on 21 April 2022. The two sides expressed their commitment to enhance bilateral cooperation and to promote new Japanese investment in Thailand in areas such as energy, electrical vehicles and batteries as well as to strengthen the supply chain in accordance with Thailand's BCG economic model policy and Japan's Green Growth Strategy.

» Ms. Duangjai Asawachintachit, Secretary General of the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), gave a talk on the topic of “How can BOI support your company’s set up and development in Thailand?” on 29 April 2022, at an executive luncheon organised by the Franco-Thai Chamber of Commerce at the InterContinental Bangkok. The event, which was attended by representatives of many foreign companies, aimed to introduce investment promotion measures and benefits offered by the BOI, including services such as the Smart Visa and the new Long-Term Resident Visa.

» On 10 May 2022, Ms. Sonklin Ploymee, Deputy Secretary General of the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), and Dr. Janekrishna Kanatharana, Executive Vice President of National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), who is supervising the Eastern Economic Corridor Innovation Zone (EECi), delivered speeches about “The Bio Circular Green Policy in Thailand and Support for Businesses” at the Roundtable on Bio Circular Green Economy in Thailand organised by Advantage Austria, a department under the Commercial section of the Austrian Embassy in Thailand. The objective was to publicize investment promotion measures for the BCG industry and various benefits and services provided to investors. Coinciding with a visit by a delegation of Austrian companies surveying investment opportunities in Thailand, the event was held at Chartered Square, Bangkok.

BOI holds online business forum on partnership in the medical sector

» The Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) Frankfurt Office in collaboration with the Royal Thai Embassy in Warsaw and the Polish Investment & Trade Agency (PAIH) organised an online Thai-Polish Business Forum on 11 May 2022 to discuss “Strategic Partnership on Medical Industry” aiming to publicise the opportunities and promotion incentives offered to support investment in Thailand’s medical industry. The Forum was part of the celebrations this year of the 50th anniversary of Thailand-Poland diplomatic relations. Mr. Jeerasak Pomsuwan, Charge d'affaires of the Royal Thai Embassy in Warsaw, and H.E. Mr. Waldemar DUBANIOWSKI, Ambassador of Poland to Thailand, delivered the opening remarks at the seminar while Mr. Chanin Khaochan, Deputy Secretary-General of the BOI, the Director of the (BOI) Frankfurt Office, and officials of the PAIH also addressed the forum. The event was attended by Thai private sector executives, including from the medical devices sector, the Federation of Thai Industries, Thai Subcon, Comarch (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and representatives of more than 40 organisations from the two countries.
BOI DSG leads team to “Saudi - Thai Investment Forum”

» Mr. Chanin Khaochan, Deputy Secretary-General of the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), on 16 May 2022, led a team from the BOI’s Thai Enterprise Development Division to participate in the “Saudi - Thai Investment Forum” held at the Movenpick Hotel, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The forum was one of the activities featured during the official visit to Saudi Arabia by H.E. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, together with an important delegation of leading private sector firms from Thailand. The Forum attracted more than 100 of Saudi Arabia’s top businesspeople.
